Last night I was a Mausketer.

Inspiré du Michey Mouse de la grande dépression, je vous présente la soirée "Mad Maus". Cet évènement d'envergure international présenté par nul autre que Gibran Ramos. 

 I am proud to present the "Mad Maus", an event hosted by the one and only Gibran Ramos whose inspiration comes from the great depression dark Mickey Mouse.

Ce rendez-vous a eu lieu la semaine dernière au "Café Delight Factory " du  Vieux- Port de Montréal. 

The gathering took place in the Old Port of Montreal trendy "Café Delight Factory". Looking at the architecture of the venue, Gibran mentioned to me that it is a reminiscence of the famous New York's "Meat Packing District".

Un mur d'escaliers... Je prends de l'air dans la cours arrière du café.

En fait, c'était l'endroit où les "social" se sont rassemblés vêtu de noir à l'allure avant-garde. De plus, à l'honneur, le premier top modèle albinos "Shaun Ross" qui a défilé pour le cher défunt Alexander McQueen, Givenchy et Patrick Mohr était la vedette de la soirée. En fait, j'ai tellement dansé et parlé à mes amis(es) que je n'ai pas pris assez de photos. Je promets de me reprendre la prochaine fois. Cependant, j'ai eu l'opportunité d'avoir les photos officielles de la soirée et j'ai le plaisir de les partager avec vous tous. 


Nonetheless, the highlight of the night was the notorious, the first  international albino super model "Shaun Ross" who teared the runway for the late Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and Patrick Mohr to name a few. In addition, it was the "hit" place to play dress up. Unfortunately, I was so busy chatting and dancing, I neglected my camera. Lucky me, I got my hands on the official pictures to share with you all.

I acknowledge being away for a little while. I must admit, I do miss you all. Therefore, I simply wanted to say a little "Coucou" to make you come back for more.  So far, my city has so much to offer. The " Montreal Fashion and Design Festival" is taking place and people are beautiful. I leave you here with pictures taken during the Wordans launch party and the festival.

One stiletto at a time

Perhaps you wonder about my many projects that are underway. Due to life circumstances I had to take the difficult decision to either put them on hold or completely pull out. Indeed, I could not attend the last ELLE EVENT and be part of a photo-shoot as the stylist.  I have no regrets since I see it as life experiences that are meant to be. In consequence, I have not blogged often as I wished.

In the light of the amazing fashion talents we have here in Montreal, I decided to change directions. I wish to put my focus on keeping you in the know of who they are and where you can purchase their items. Moreover, I am preparing to bring Marjorie's Closet to the next level such as writing en français. Will you join me as I reveal new finds and places to be ?

With that being said, bear with me while I build this project one stiletto at a time ...It will be worth it.

Fashion Break

Two months ago I made a "Tribute to Someone Very Special ". Time flies since it has been two months already. As family and some of my best friends gathered to visit my father during his last days, I had found myself questioning every action both doctors and nurses where doing to keep my father alive. 

I was fortunate enough since my father's room was kept clean. According to what I saw, needles, hazardous substances, and used materials where kept in sealed containers away from patients. 

However, it was brought to my attention that the U.S government recently released its annual report on the quality of health care that Americans receive and while there have been some improvements, the news was not positive: hospitals still have work to do to put an end to the ongoing, but very solvable, problem of patients acquiring life-threatening infections in hospitals.  While this dilemma is raised in America, here in Canada perhaps we are not excluded from it either. 

To help achieve that, Kimblery-Clark Healthcare has put together a website called "Not on My Watch" at www.haiwatch.com to educate patients and health care professionals.  Their goal is to eliminate these preventable illnesses and their often tragic consequences.
